I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and abide by their Code of Ethics. I graduated from the University of Chicago-School of Social
Service Administration in 1989 with a Doctorate Degree in Social Work (PhD). I am certified by the Grief Recovery Institute and I am fully trained to conduct EMDR trauma treatment. I provide counseling to individuals,
couples, children and families. I also work at La Rabida Children’s Hospital in their Chicago Child Trauma Center.
I specialize in trauma therapy. I am trained in EMDR, a research-based treatment that can greatly relieve the negative effects of traumatic experiences. In addition, I offer relaxation training, guided imagery, and easily-learned
mindfulness techniques.
I offer therapy for children and teenagers who have experienced trauma, divorce, behavioral troubles, anxiety and sleep difficulties. I support parents with loving and effective solutions.
I work with soldiers returning from war, and their families. Therapy is directed at making peace with their wartime experiences and resolving PTSD symptoms.
My approach is positive and I build upon peoples’ strengths and support systems. I would like to guide you through the process of healing so that you can create a life full of purpose and joy. I am
comfortable working within your spiritual framework and your cultural background.
